hmmm I'm only sort of half impressed by what this group has done so far. I wish they would finish the things they have started rather than take on something new and big.

I was talking to my coworker about how the 2400 Block of E. Fayatee was being torn down and she said "well, they ar emaking progress." I agreed, but I'm really wondering whether we can count destruction of a whole row of what might have been perfectly good houses as progress?

I realized that I have become sort of community paranoid- I assume that everyone is doing something bad. So yestserday, when Iw as home waiting for the insurance guy I heard noises in the alley, I went to check and saw people putting garbage bags through an opening in the wall at the far end of the alley so I grabbed my camera "Aha! illegal dumping," I thought. But when I really looked they were actually workers putting trash into a truck to take it away. What a concept!

Apparently, the very burned out block of 2400 E. Fayette St. is being torn down today. I expect we'll see a little extra action our way as a result. I'm not saying tearing that block down is bad- it's very good. The block has been a mess for years.
I guess the owner of 2321 has been around, when I got home yesterday I noticed that the favorite enty/exit window was boarded and a window has been reinstalled upstairs.
Ooh, here's a nice bit of irony, when I went to check the front page of this blog, I noticed that up there, where the Blogspot adds are, there were two ads for murder defense lawyers. Nice.

I guess it's time to move surveillance back to the alley. Since the snow has been slowly (way too slowly) disappearing, I'm noticing more activity back there. I'm not sure what they are going to do about 30 though, the yard used to be very neat and tidy (thanks to a cleaning post-fire) ut now it's full of trash again.
